Turkish Angora The Turkish Angora is one of the oldest breeds, originating in the region of Ankara in central Turkey. Physical Characteristics:

The Turkish Angora cat is a small to medium size, long body and slender, athletic and muscular. Females usually weigh about three kilos and adult males a little more, up to four and a half kilos. Included in the category II of FIFe, ie the semi-long hair. Although the best known are the blue-eyed white or mixed, are recognized today in all colors, except the east. There are over twenty varieties: two-color, all colors of smoke tabby, classic tabby and tabby, silver tabby, solid colors (pure white, black, blue, red, tortoiseshell …), etc. The eyes are large, oval and slightly slanted, and can be of any hue: between amber and gold, green, blue or mixed (in the white copies).

The head is small, wedge-shaped neck is smooth and long, thin and elegant. The ears are large, stiff, shaggy hair and slightly pointed. The legs are long, with longer back than front. The coat, with little inner layer is semi-long on body, shorter on the back and the nose, long neck and under belly. Overall, the Turkish Angora gives an impression of balance and proportion and lightness. The combination of a slender body, long hind legs and tail high tapered in the direction of the head and ears, an effect of ethereal elegance, floating movement.

Temperament:

The Turkish Angora cat breed is an intelligent, curious, agile, very active and talkative. It is very devoted to his owner, who usually follow the house to monitor his every move. They like being the center of attention, are faithful and very cuddly. Not like being caught in the arms too long, although to be all the time in human company. They enjoy climbing on the most inaccessible places and watching their domains from the highest place in the house.
