History:

This thesis is supported by the fact that Galician and Portuguese crew disembark in Newfoundland, where dogs have achieved these characteristics. They stress the fact that Spanish land border with Portugal there is a type of shepherd dog very similar to modern Labrador.

Once settled in the UK, its qualities were soon appreciated by hunters, who showed the ease with which collected the ducks when they fell in the water. The foremost authority on the race was the Viscount Knutsford, who started breeding work in 1884. One of the most famous examples was one created by him, was called “Munden Sentry”, which won several titles in 1905. Another very important issue within the first decade of the twentieth century was “Flapper”, born in 1902, proved an outstanding stallion.

The Labrador Club of England was founded in 1916, a period in which most copies were black, but the yellows started to be valued. The first copy of this color was recorded in 1899, born of two black parents. Today is one of the most popular breeds for the general public, with a great demand in many countries and is used in a wide variety of tasks, given their special ability to work.

Labradors love people. The more time you spend with them, the happier. The Labs are retrievers, which will make you achieve things that are lying around your house. Patients are usually children, and wonderful pets. The farmer is not a watchdog. May bark to warn, but usually never act with more aggression.
