Hamsters are suitable to be pets in the house
Other heavily used hamsters as pets are the four species of dwarf hamster. The most common of the four is the Russian dwarf hamster. Is often confused with Campbell dwarf hamster, which may appear to be equal but, noticing a bit, we see that is slightly larger and has a face different from the Russian hamster, which is half the size of the golden hamster. The winter hamster named because of the changes their hair color: gray tone usually during the winter when sunlight is reduced to eight hours or less, the Hamster winter changes the color of its coat to an almost uniformly white glow.
The European hamster field is the largest of all, being an occasional pest in Europe in ancient valleys, in which is still in the wild.
The care of all the hamsters as pets is basically similar but there are differences in food and shelter needs. Dwarf hamsters are sociable, and it is preferable to have them in cages along with at least one partner of the same gender to avoid problems of loneliness. Golden hamsters, however, are extremely territorial and will fight with any other hamster that lives in the same cage, even to kill themselves. Chinese hamsters can be housed in pairs or groups, but require a relatively roomy cage to live peacefully. Although they are very placid nature, Chinese hamster females tend to become aggressive to any male who shares the same cage when they are pregnant.
Hamsters are nocturnal by nature, what makes them bad pets for small children, in the sense that periods of activity do not match each other. Many people prefer them to rats as pets, mainly because of poor image and reputation of the latter. Unlike rats, hamsters are not particularly good learning tricks, but can be fun to play with them and observe them. They are also much smaller than guinea pigs, but just as sociable, and are therefore a good solution for homes with space constraints.
The golden hamster is by far the most popular as a pet. In some countries the Campbell hamster is more popular than white winter, while in others, especially Europeans, is the opposite. Species Roborovski China and more difficult to breed in captivity, so they are usually available only in specialized breeders and large chain pet stores, are less common types of hamsters as pets.
Hamsters are popular pets in most countries, with the exception of Australia and New Zea land, where its importation is banned. Both countries have very strict rules on the import of species, and often deny entry to anyone with a reproduction rate too high, as if to escape copies, lack of natural predators could make them a huge community at large, interfering with the local ecology and becoming pests for agriculture and wildlife, as happened with the rabbits.
