Calvo geese that inhabit the Himalayan region

Calvo geeseThe Calvo Goose (Anser indicus) breeds in the highlands of the Himalayas. These highlands are found at elevations of 4,000 to 5,000 meters above sea level. During the fall migration south of the mountains, viendosele throughout northern India. In winter also visit Pakistan and Myanmar.

HABITAT:

REPRODUCTION:

The clutch has four to eight white eggs. Incubation takes about 27 days and is made by the mother while the male stays close to her. The chicks are reared and protected by both parents. Young fly at 53 days.

FOOD:

It eats seeds, grains, herbs, roots and foliage of aquatic plants. Is most active during twilight hours and at night. During the day resting on sandbars in rivers.

DESCRIPTION:

Among the geese is one of the largest. Length reaches 71 to 76 cm. Achieved weigh 2 to 3 kg
