Boar is considered as the forerunner of the domestic pig
A wild pig is one of the large mammals (can reach 1.60 meters in length) and most sought by hunters in Spain. He is shy except when he is wounded and becomes a fierce and dangerous animal.
It has robust body with long triangular head in a small tube. Their tusks are outgoing. It is considered the predecessor of the domestic pig.
The boar prefer the mountains very close or very marshy reeds. His life is nocturnal. By day remains hidden in the cooler sites, and at night go out to eat their usual diet – wild fruits, seeds, nuts and insects.
During the autumn / winter, males fight to win a female. In March, the piglets are born they often have streaks in their hair, but the color will remain the same as they grow.
