Calvo geese that inhabit the Himalayan region

The Calvo Goose (Anser indicus) breeds in the highlands of the Himalayas. These highlands are found at elevations of 4,000 to 5,000 meters above sea level. During the fall migration south of the mountains, viendosele throughout northern India. In winter also visit Pakistan and Myanmar.
HABITAT:
Inhabits lakes and rivers of fresh water. Shows a preference for water tanks where they can stop to rest, although it also occurs in rivers with trees on their margins. Frequent winter in coastal areas.
HABITS:
Is maintained in groups that may have four or five of them to flocks of one hundred individuals.
REPRODUCTION:
Nest in May and June in colonies or alone. I can build a nest on the ground in the grass or use abandoned nests of other birds in the branches of trees. Usually select a site on the shore of a lake. Adds markers to the nest.
The clutch has four to eight white eggs. Incubation takes about 27 days and is made by the mother while the male stays close to her. The chicks are reared and protected by both parents. Young fly at 53 days.
FOOD:
It eats seeds, grains, herbs, roots and foliage of aquatic plants. Is most active during twilight hours and at night. During the day resting on sandbars in rivers.
DESCRIPTION:
Among the geese is one of the largest. Length reaches 71 to 76 cm. Achieved weigh 2 to 3 kg
